Hi! I’m Alice — a professional photographer based in Jacksonville, Florida.
I specialize in branding photography, studio portraits, and personal photo sessions that help entrepreneurs, creatives, and families feel seen and celebrated. Whether you’re launching a business or refreshing your online presence, I’m here to help you tell your story visually.

Some sessions go deeper. Not just in lighting or posing — but in connection, in intention, in energy.
Jay first reached out months before the shoot. He wasn’t even sure yet if he was ready to book. So, as I often do with thoughtful or hesitant clients, I invited him to meet in person. For me, it’s never just about the studio space — it’s about reading energy, understanding if we’re aligned, and giving the client space to feel that too.
We met. We talked. I showed him around. But more than that — we simply connected. Jay shared his thoughts, his vision, his reasons for wanting this session. And I knew right then: this was someone who didn’t take the moment lightly. And neither would I.

How to Prepare for a Branding Session (For Real)
Jay came to this shoot with a clear mindset: he wanted to celebrate his transformation — personal, physical, and emotional. This was more than just personal brand photography; it was a way to honor the work he had done. He’s not a fitness coach or a public figure — just a focused, self-motivated person who took on a serious transformation, and wanted to mark it with high-quality branding images in a studio setting in Jacksonville, FL.
What made this session work so seamlessly was how prepared we both were. I sent him my recommendations, we shared a moodboard (yes, mutual effort!), and it helped us align visually. For Jay, the board was a quick reference during the shoot. For me, it was insight into what he gravitates toward: what kind of light felt “too much,” what surprised him, and what felt just right.

Oh! And can we talk about the fact that he brought SEVEN outfit changes (!)? And we still managed to fit them all into a two-hour session. That only worked because we both understood the purpose behind each look and how it fit the flow of the shoot. I was honestly impressed.
Preparation allows for flow. And that’s what allowed this creative photo session to be so smooth — a real behind-the-scenes branding shoot kind of energy, with clarity, laughter, and trust from both sides.

The Day of the Shoot: Strength Meets Lightness
What struck me most during the shoot was the balance between Jay’s inner focus and his light, open energy. He was present. He brought his A-game — physically and emotionally — but he wasn’t rigid. We laughed a lot. The entire session was filled with movement, jokes, and those small in-between moments that give a photo its soul.
Yes, we did more intense setups too — strength poses, movement shots, physical work that required him to hold position or activate muscles. But even those flowed easily because the energy between us was just right. I always checked in with him, showed images on the spot, made sure we were aligned — not just technically, but emotionally. He knew I was on his side. That’s what makes the difference.

A Story Worth Telling
People often think branding sessions are only for businesses. But sometimes, it’s about marking a personal chapter. Jay wanted this session not just for content for websites and social media — but for himself. For his story. For his identity. To celebrate discipline, to create professional headshots in Jacksonville that reflect where he is now. It wasn’t about marketing. It was about being seen. (Oh, and by the way… he’s 58. Yep. I know — my jaw dropped too.).
For me, this session was a reminder of why I do what I do. I love working with people. Real people. Driven, creative, curious people who show up with intention. Jay is one of them — but he’s not alone. I’ve been lucky to work with so many inspiring clients who take their time seriously, who prepare with care, and who allow space for real collaboration. I’m just glad I finally had a chance to share at least one of these stories here on the blog — and I hope to do it more often. Stories like this matter!
Thank you, Jay, for trusting me with your story.

Some Credits + Shoutouts
And of course — as always — one of my favorite parts is seeing how these images continue to live out in the world. In Jay’s case, they’ve found a home in his social media, where his journey keeps inspiring others. That’s the magic: the session may end, but the story keeps going.
